Privacy Policy

What PidgePay knows about you, why, and what you can do about it.

Last updated 7 October 2026

1. The short version

  • We never see your private keys or recovery phrase.
  • We do not ask for ID documents.
  • We do not sell your data, and we do not run advertising trackers.
  • Payments on a blockchain are public and permanent. That is how blockchains work, and we cannot change it.

2. Who is responsible

PidgePay ("we", "us") decides how your data is used when you use PidgePay.

3. What we collect

When you use the PidgePay app, we store:

  • your wallet address, and the name you choose (your @name or display name);
  • the payment requests you create: amount, note, expiry and status;
  • payments made through PidgePay: the wallets involved, amount, asset, network and transaction reference;
  • the contacts you save: the names and wallet addresses you enter;
  • a session, so you stay signed in.

If you sign in with email, Google or a passkey, our sign-in provider Privy handles that sign-in and keeps the email address or account you used.

If you bid to sponsor a week, we also store your project name, the contact email you give us and the IP address the bid came from.

Like every website, our hosting provider records technical data when you visit: IP address, browser type and the pages requested.

4. What we do not collect

  • private keys or recovery phrases;
  • passports, ID cards or selfies;
  • your location, your contact list or other data from your device;
  • advertising or cross-site tracking data.

5. What is public

A blockchain is a public record. Anyone can see a wallet's payments and balances, forever. We cannot edit or delete what is recorded there.

Anyone who has one of your payment links can see its amount, its note and your @name or wallet address. Do not put private information in a note.

6. Why we use it

  • to run PidgePay: create your requests, show your payments and history, keep you signed in;
  • to keep it safe: prevent abuse, fraud and attacks;
  • to meet legal obligations, when the law requires us to keep or hand over data.

We use your data because we need it to provide the service you asked for, because we have a legitimate interest in keeping PidgePay safe, or because the law requires it.

7. Who we share it with

We use a small number of providers to run PidgePay. They only get what they need for their job:

  • Privy, for sign-in and for the wallet created when you sign in with email, Google or a passkey;
  • our hosting and database providers, who store and serve PidgePay;
  • blockchain network providers, who relay your payments to the network and so see your wallet address and IP address;
  • swap providers, when your payout is swapped into another asset.

We do not sell your data. We only hand data to authorities when the law requires it.

8. Cookies and your device

This website sets no cookies and has no analytics or trackers.

The app uses cookies and storage on your device only to keep you signed in and to remember settings, such as whether you have seen the welcome tour. No advertising cookies.

9. How long we keep it

We keep your data for as long as you use PidgePay and as long as we need it for the reasons above. Sessions expire by themselves. Data on a blockchain stays there permanently.

10. Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • show you the data we hold about you;
  • correct it;
  • delete it, where we are allowed to and able to;
  • stop or limit how we use it.

If you are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the data protection authority in your country.

11. Age

PidgePay is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

12. Changes

When we change this policy we update the date at the top of this page.
